The Science of the Heart, Compassion and Meditation:

The magnetic component of the heart’s field is 5000 times stronger than that produced by the brain. The heart rhythms affect our brain’s ability to process information. The heart has 40,000 sensory neurons involved in relaying ascending information to the brain. The heart sends 90% more information to the brain than the brain sends to the heart. The “heart brain” acts independently of the cranial brain and has extensive sensory capacities. Compassion and meditation have been shown to be very beneficial for maximising human potential. It had resulted in better functioning brains and hearts, which benefits the body as a whole.

    The presentation will focus on;
    * Rediscovery of the ancient secrets of the heart in the Modern Era/Modern Science.
    * Coherence, Entrainment, Brain Hemisphere Synchronisation and the Quantum Field.
    * Why the man labelled “happiest person in the world” by the University of Wisconsin–Madison is a long term Vegan and a meditator.
    * Why prisoners showed 90% less violence on the side of the Maryland prison where inmates were fed a vegan diet.
    * How animal products affect our nerves, causing agitation and restlessness, interfere with our ability to be calm, compassionate, relaxed and affect our ability to meditate.
    * How emotions affect individuals physiologically, and how those emotions affect other people locally and around the world.
    * Studies show global violence reductions during global meditations.
    * Latest Research conducted by the Heartmath Institute.
    * Meditation for reducing stress, improving sleep, improving clarity, providing greater resiliency and effective decision making.

Vegan all you can eat dinner and talk for only $10!! No need to book- just show up. Get in early though as these events fill up fast! If you have any questions about anything besides Mark's talk (food options, seating, etc...) please contact Mantra Lounge directly as they are organising this.

    11:00 amChapel Street, Prahran

Brunswick Street, Fitzroy is undeniably the vegetarian/vegan capital of Melbourne and of Australia. However not many people realise that Chapel Street is quietly making ground in rivaling Brunswick Street for the number one spot.

On Chapel Street there are veg eateries like Lord of the Fries, Veg Out Time and Green Cup. Just metres off Chapel Street are other Veg Eateries such as Beangreen, the Falafal Man, Kooks Kitchen, Fritz Gelato, Falafel Factory and Simple Seed Eatery. Pana Chocolate is just further up in Richmond just where Chapel Street becomes Church Street. Additionally Prahran Convenience and Lee’s Vegetarian Asian Grocery are now stocking a huge array of Vegan products.

Not only will you indulge in all the great Vegan food, and drinks, but many of these places mentioned will offer discounts and offers on the day to those on the VegVic tour. Not only that, you will also learn lots of amazing facts about Chapel Street as we walk off the calories, up and down one of the most famous streets in Australia.

The tour starts off at 11am, Saturday the 26th of September at the Prahran Market (163 Commercial Road, Prahran) in front of Beangreen Vegetarian Café, Shop 804. If you are running late or want to catch up on the tour a little later, call 0430 201 167 to find out where we will be at. The weather forecast for Saturday is for a perfect sunny spring day, with an expected maximum of 20 degrees.

Your Health, Your Choice - The Signature of Foods

Your Health, Your Choice is a series of workshops that has been running monthly in Mt Evelyn since February. Each month Mark Doneddu presents on different health topics. The talks so far have looked at different sources of optimal protein, general concerns around current western diet, we looked at different recipes and the benefits of their ingredients and spoke about the recently released and highly acclaimed documentary What The Health!

In this Month's Talk with Mark we will be looking at The Signature of Foods, that is how the foods we eat, look like parts of our body, and how those foods have a beneficial impact on those specific body parts of the body. This will be a really interesting talk, and may make you look at your foods in a whole new way.
